Hand Embroidery

At this station, students will learn the basics of hand embroidery using design patterns, starting with a couple of basic stitches. Students will work at their own pace and have a choice of projects, including tea towels, cloth napkins, handkerchiefs, framed wall art, and pillows. Students will complete 1-2 of these to bring home. After the basics are mastered, students may learn additional stitches, freehand embroidery, and basic color theory for color selection, based on interest. Students with previous embroidery experience can jump ahead to learn more advanced skills. All students will end the day with enough experience to start their own projects at home using this inexpensive and versatile skill.
